As Generative AI becomes more pervasive, language professionals will be expected to use it. It may displace some of their tasks, augment their capabilities for others, and create new opportunities.

In this presentation, Arle Lommel discusses how this technology is likely to affect translators, interpreters, and others as it develops and is integrated into technologies. He also discusses how some of the technologies will need to change to support these developments.
